A worn bicycle chain leads to poor shifting performance and can damage the drivetrain, resulting in more costly repairs. The Park Tool CC-4.2 Chain Wear Indicator is an easy-to-use tool that accurately measures the wear on your chain. Laser cut, the CC-4.2 precisely measures a long section of the chain and contacts it at three strategic points, making it quick and easy to determine when to replace it.
This tool is compatible with all 5-speed to 13-speed derailleur chains (including SRAM® T-Type, SRAM® Flattop™, Shimano® XTR® 12-speed, and Campagnolo® Ekar™ 13-speed chains) and single-speed chains. It is designed to accurately indicate when the chain reaches 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0% wear, which are the thresholds at which most manufacturers recommend replacement.
